Operations and maintenance. Still running tomorrow.

Launch isn’t where the work ends. We watch, update and develop your systems so you don’t have to think about them.

An application that works on launch day is only the beginning. Then come updates, security patches, growing data, new requirements, and now and then something that breaks at the worst possible moment. Server management and application operations is work nobody sees until it starts being done badly.

We make sure your systems run, stay secure and get better over time instead of falling apart.

What maintenance covers

Operations that understand the code

Maintenance is done by the same people who design and write the applications. When something breaks, it isn’t handled by a helpdesk reading from a script. It’s handled by someone who knows how the system works inside.

That means operations aren’t just firefighting. We see where problems keep coming back and propose how to prevent them. Sometimes by changing the code, sometimes the infrastructure. And sometimes we’ll recommend simplifying the system.

We’ll take over someone else’s system too

We don’t need to have built a system to look after it. We’ll take over an application from another supplier too. First we go through it, find out what state it’s in and tell you openly what we see. If the original supplier won’t let you go, we’ll help you escape vendor lock-in.

If nobody in your company currently looks after technology as a whole, take a look at our fractional CTO service.

How a handover works

Getting acquainted. We go through the system, infrastructure, access and documentation. If documentation is missing, we start by writing it.

Stabilising. We fix the riskiest things first: missing backups, outdated components, access that shouldn’t exist. We set up monitoring so we can see what’s going on in the system.

Day-to-day running. Regular maintenance, updates, monitoring and technical support. Plus ongoing recommendations on what’s worth improving.

No black box

You always know what we’re doing and why. No black box you just pay for.

We regularly let you know the state of your systems: what we dealt with, what’s coming up (the end of support for some component, say) and what we recommend planning for. So you decide on your operations budget in good time, not when something falls over.

Infrastructure inflates easily. More servers, more services, more tools, more invoices. We design operations to match what your systems really need. When something can be simplified or made cheaper without risk, we’ll tell you.

Development, not just upkeep

Systems that don’t develop grow old. Besides maintenance, we help you improve your systems step by step: speed up what’s slow, simplify what’s needlessly complex, and connect what’s still being retyped by hand.

The access, the documentation and the source code belong to you. You don’t have to leave maintenance with us forever. If you decide to carry on with someone else, we’ll hand everything over in good order.

Who it’s for

We run operations and maintenance for small businesses without their own IT, for mid-sized companies and enterprises.

Questions people ask

Will you take over a system you didn’t build?

Yes, once we’ve gone through it and found out what state it’s in. If we find risks, we’ll tell you straight away.

What does maintenance cover?

As needed: infrastructure, monitoring, security, updates and technical support. We agree the scope based on what your systems really need.

How much do operations and maintenance cost?

It depends on how many systems we look after and to what extent. Get in touch and we’ll propose something sensible.

Do we own the access and the documentation?

Yes. The access, the documentation and the source code belong to you. You can hand maintenance to someone else at any time.

Got something worth solving?

Tell us what’s bothering you. We’ll meet in Prague, Brno, Olomouc or online and work out the rest together.
